Refuge from the Storm

Clawing like an animal who has an expanding appetite.

Searching for refuge in the lighthouse who stood like a jagged skyscraper;

It carried the smell of hygienic frost and wired circuits,

‘Twas a silent war song,

except,

for the electric hum of the wind roaring by.

No paper script could find the words to say,

as I saw my boat get taken over by a surge of water.

My imagination:

left to visualize it drowning,

in a swirling masquerade.

Watching the horror pass the view of my eyes,

and looking at the world

from a different angle.
